Scholarly Writing for Faculty Success helps you make steady progress on scholarly writing related to research, grant activity, and promotion and tenure.

Hosted by the Office of the Provost, this program provides a weekly three-hour facilitated writing block giving you protected time, structured accountability, and a supportive community of colleagues across disciplines.

Registration is now open for the Fall 2026 writing blocks. Faculty may register for either of the two options below.

Hybrid Option 1:Wednesdays, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Begins Wednesday, September 30, and continues through Wednesday, December 16.

Hybrid Option 2:Thursdays, 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Begins Thursday, October 1, and continues through Thursday, December 17.

Program Goals

Scholarly Writing for Faculty Success helps you make meaningful progress on scholarly projects by providing

  • dedicated weekly writing time,
  • uninterrupted blocks for focused work,
  • a supportive community of faculty writers,
  • structured accountability through goal setting and reflection.

Designed in response to faculty feedback, the program creates the time, structure, and support needed to sustain scholarly writing and advance long-term academic goals.

Your role as a writing scholar

Participants in the program are expected to

  • attend weekly writing sessions throughout the semester,
  • arrive on time and remain for the full writing block,
  • set writing goals and reflect on progress,
  • dedicate session time to sustained scholarly writing,
  • foster a supportive community that encourages accountability and productivity.
