Each of the four profiles (communicator, problem solver, community contributor, and innovator) supports and enhances the others, and students have many opportunities to reflect on and make connections between their classroom and co-curricular learning as they deepen their disciplinary understanding and refine what it means to be a well-rounded, well-educated person prepared for lifelong learning.

In the spring of 2021, the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) and the Institute for Engaged Learning are offering a professional development series to help programs map learning outcomes from capstone courses and other courses in the curriculum to the Profiles. Handouts from this professional development series, including links to recordings from each session of the series, are available on this webpage. ePortfolios

An ePortfolio is a framework for learning, a space for students to collect evidence of, reflect on, articulate, and create new learning over time. ePortfolio practice can help students integrate learning across the curriculum, co-curriculum, and their experiences on and off campus, and help students see the connections to the Profiles.

As part of the IUPUI Institute for Engaged Learning, the ePortfolio Initiative provides guidance to instructors interested in incorporating ePortfolio pedagogies into their courses. To learn more, attend a workshop or consultation, or join the ePortfolio Community of Practice, contact llewoP ymA.

The Dimensions of Global Learning (Dimensions) are a tool for faculty, staff, and administrators to help them develop more intentionally global and intercultural learning experiences across the curriculum and co-curriculum. They directly support the IUPUI Strategic Plan goal to: Develop curricular and co-curricular activities that enable all IUPUI students to have at least one substantial global learning experience during his or her IUPUI career, either internationally or locally.

Two companion documents are available to assist faculty in using the Dimensions. The first document provides examples of how faculty have framed curricular experiences using the Dimensions and the second document aligns the Dimensions with the Undergraduate Profiles of Learning. Use of the Dimensions is not required, rather faculty are encouraged to use the Dimensions in courses to provide a global learning experience for students even if they are not studying abroad. 

The IUPUI Office of International Affairs, which utilizes the Dimensions as a professional development framework for curriculum internationalization across undergraduate, graduate, and professional education, regularly offers workshops and provides consultation around global learning.
