Because leave policies vary based on appointment type, salary plan (10-month or 12-month), circumstances, and funding sources, faculty are encouraged to consult their unit HR Business Partner early in the process. The HR Business Partner in each school or unit serves as the primary point of contact for leave requests and can help faculty navigate available options and required documentation.
